Autumn Gold

Beautiful day in the Cairngorms today. We cycled from Aviemore south along the Badenoch way to Kincraig and then over to Feshiebridge and Inshariach forest. The path was not too challenging which is just as well as we spent all the time gazing at the gorgeous autumn colours and not looking where we were going!

From Kincraig we headed east through Inshriach forest in search of some trails that Bothy Bikes had told us about at Creag Dhubh. With no wind, the water at Uath Lochan was like glass, reflecting the trees and hills like a mirror.

We found the trails in the end but from the wrong end! So that meant a hike up the single track to find out where the trail started from so next time we could do it the right way round as at this time of year the days are a lot shorter and we were worried about getting back before sunset. Cheese and pickle sandwiches at the trig point at the top went down a treat. It will be worth it when we get back here and ride the trail the right way round.

Feshiebridge was impressive after all the recent rain

Back at the van now and hunkered in for the evening with the heating on as it is getting chillier at this time of year. Got some lovely looking lamb steaks to grill for dinner and a bottle of pink fizz. This is the life :).
