We awoke to a temperature inversion today so decided we needed to get up high to take in the view. As we are in Aviemore that could only mean the Burma Road! The views of the cloud below us along the valley were worth the climb.

We look the less well known path on the left just before the summit and rode along and back around the hill. I use the term “rode” quite loosely as the track was wet and very rough which meant I walked quite a bit. I had clearly forgotten how hard this was last time I did it, but as I spent most of the time taking in the views it really didn’t bother me.

Back down the hill we cycled through Alvie and then back along the Speyside Way. Everything was still frozen on lower ground.

A ride with a view for sure.
