Enjoying the last few days of our seasonal pitch in Aviemore. It has been excellent to be able to come here so much over the last 5 months. Enjoying some spring weather and are trying to repeat all our favourite bike rides in the area before we leave.
Yesterday we did some of the local downhill trails at Upper Burnside. Illya was sporting some new bike trousers and new gloves after finding that he had 4 left handed gloves and no right handed ones in his drawer (he throws the odd ones away when too full of holes and guess what has happened over the yrs !).
Today we cycled up the Lairig Ghru and back down again. Love that single track. Met some hikers from the Netherlands who were planning to sleep out under canvas tonight. And yes we did see a partridge in a pine tree – it was sitting there half way up the branches!
First use of the BBQ to cook dinner in some time as it has been way too cold to use it through the winter. Yummy.
