We recently started “bike pack rafting” which has opened up a whole new world of adventure. Today though we left the bikes in the van and took the rafts out on Derwent Water and enjoyed the afternoon in the sun. The wind was blowing back to the shore at Keswick Camping and Caravan site so it was a real arm workout to get out into the lake before paddling around some small islands. Fun to be out though.
These rafts pack down very small as they are designed to take them on the bike. Ideal therefore for sticking in the van in case we end up camping near a river or lake we can access. Those ski racks adaptations we made also hold boats and paddles!
