Day 4: 102 miles
We had planned to start the day with a cycle up to Dunnet Head however with less than an hour till the impending storm we decided to drive up there instead. It was a remote bit of headland, both bleak and beautiful at the same time. At the most northerly point there was yet another Robert Louis Stevenson lighthouse and some stunning cliff views.

We slowly made our way along the coast stopping to see the many beaches along the way. We had planned to spend a night at a campsite at Bettyhill but it was in a bit of a state and the weather was not as sunny as we hoped so we decided to keep moving.

We weren’t disappointed as the more we travelled West the more stunning the scenery became; rugged and beautiful.

The Highland Council has put in a number of places for camper vans to stop for the night which was great to see but everyone else clearly had the same idea so we moved on to Kinlochbervie where they have repurposed the old harbour as a stop over point. There are a few other people here but the views are great and it is very close to Sandwood Bay which is a bike ride we wanted to revisit in the morning.
