After 6 consecutive days on the bike our legs needed a rest so we stocked up on a few supplies and headed to Loch Garten for a quiet afternoon.
The RSPB have a base at Loch Garten which is well known for Osprey sightings as there has been a pair breeding here for the last 5 years. We were lucky enough to see a male land and check out the nest. Although we understand from the warden that none of the 5 males in the area have yet brought large enough fish to encourage the female to lay any eggs.

Lovely walk alongside the loch. And enjoyed using the binoculars I got for my birthday recently. They definitely work 😁 as I saw a spotted woodpecker, a chaffinch and a golden eyed duck.

We are expecting a rainy day tomorrow so plan to drive to the far north easterly point of the Moray coast to Fraserburgh to see what we can find…..
