Trails, trains and tea

Winter is definitely getting closer as it was a chilly 3C today. But the autumn leaves still give a lovely golden colour and the backdrop of snowy hill tops was beautiful. A great day to be out.

Lovely to see the really old trains being used to do repairs on the track.

Giant wigwams created using old wood fallen from the trees. A good habitat for animals and fun for grown ups too.

After tea and a pasty at the village shop in Boat of Garten, we finished the day re-discovering some great single track south from Loch Vaa, crossing the railway line and all the way down to Aviemore. Big smiles all round.

All cosy in the van now with the heater on and a stew in the slow cooker. Roll on winter.
