With a break in the recently stormy weather today we were excited to head up to Cairngorm Mountain today for some skiing.
We used the local ski bus from Aviemore to avoid having to pack up and move the van. Good thing we did as the car parks were full since all the locals had the same idea as us.
The snow at the top Ptarmigam bowl was lovely and we got some great views in between the cloud. 3 run in though and Illya’s snowboarding boots had an epic failure 🤣. We worked out they were somewhere between 18-22 years old so he had got good use out of them. But what poor timing on a day like today!
At least we are staying in the outdoor capital of the Cairngorms and there were lots of options to buy replacements. Even better the end of season sales were on. New boots sourced we will be back up the mountain soon.
And although it was a short day skiing we enjoyed an apres-ski drink at the Skiingdoo.
