The “little blue button”

First trip in the van was not as smooth as we hoped. Luckily (or unluckily) we stopped for a break on the drive north and noticed water streaming from under the vehicle. After a bit of investigation we found that the frost safety valve on the boiler system was open and we had lost most (50 litres) of the water we put into the van before leaving home. We have reset the valve (aka the little blue button) and are hoping that it was just open from the demo we had when we picked up the van.

The next challenge was refilling all the water we had lost. It is surprisingly difficult to find a public water tap in the UK. We contacted a campsite at Aviemore and although they were closed for the season they kindly said we could stop by and fill up the water. And when we arrived they offerred to let us stay at the campsite for the night. As it was late and we decided we ought to test the rest of the van, we took them up on their offer.

Not what we had hoped for our first night but having fun nonetheless and will travel onwards to Gairloch in the morning :).

So here we are.

Fizz courtesy of Roseisle Campervans. Great customer service (even if they did leave the valve open!)
