Last night we experienced a beautiful clear sky, full of stars. The heating in the van ticked over nicely so we were hardly aware that the temperature had dropped to minus 10 degrees centigrade outside. Pulling back the insulated windscreen cover this morning we were therefore very surprised to find ice on the inside! It made for some very atmospheric photos though.

Stob Dearg through the icy windscreen
The clear skies made it a great day for walking. We headed up to the top of Meall a Bhuiridh (Glencoe Mountain ski area) and the views did not disappoint. It was a frozen land everywhere you looked, but beautiful in the low light at this time of year.

Traversing the rocky slope up
No fast skiing !
As well as checking out routes for back country skiing (for when the snow eventually arrives….), we also had fun testing out the sledges kindly provided by Glencoe Mountain Resort.

Snow making is coming on well
Always a kid at heart
Finished with a few beverages in the mountain lodge at the bottom. What a fabulous day out.

At those temperatures I think hibernation is a great alternative 😆 Beautiful scenery and glad you both getting the benefits of the camper.👍👍
