Ravenglass and Eskdale

We couldn’t miss the opportunity to take a trip on the narrow gauge steam railway. Picking the open roof carriage perhaps wasn’t the best idea given the weather but it did afford the best views.

We travelled one way on the railway up the valley from Ravenglass to Eskdale Green and then walked back over Muncaster Fells.

Had a scenic picnic stop at the top of Hooker Crag before the downhill return past Muncaster Castle grounds and the Roman bath ruins ending on the beach at Ravenglass.
