We’ve had a lovely couple of nights near Aberystwyth. This campsite was full of positive surprises. It didn’t look much when we arrived but we had a great view from the pitch and it was very a very quiet and peaceful setting. And the showers were the best I have used for ages!
There were stunning views along the coastal path from Clarach towards Borth.

And in Clarach Bay we found a small seaside amusement arcade where Illya re-lived his youth by playing the 2p coin slot machines.

Ynyslas beach was a great find as you can drive right onto the beach when the tide is not high. Amazing dunes and views across the estuary. A great view for lunch and a cuppa.

The evening walk to Constitution Hill on the North side of Aberystwyth was scenic too. The cutest little funicular railway is built into the cliff. We were too late to see it running but were able to walk down the cliff alongside the track.

Driving northwards today towards Porthmadog and Criccieth for the next leg of our journey.
