Wales definitely has some of the most lovely beaches in the UK. And there are so many of them to choose from.
Yesterday we visited Black Rock Sands just East of Porthmadog. This beach is famous for being able to drive along and Illya wanted to take the van onto the beach to prove it could cope with the soft sand and get some great photos (but not photos of being stranded on the beach in the high tide!)

We stayed in the Black Rock Sands campsite right next to the beach. Being mid week we almost had it to ourselves. Just as it got dark we heard the noise of cars racing on the beach so went to take a look. There were definitely a few people who stayed on the beach after dark.

Today we drove East almost to the end of the Llyn peninsula. We stopped in Abersoch on the way which was a charming little town full of coffee shops, wine bars and surfing shops of all things.
Our campsite tonight at Porth Iago has to be the best we have ever stayed at. On a remote tip of the peninsula, accessible down a long track through a farm, we found the most wonderful sea views from a field on the cliff. And the local beach, accessible only from the site, is stunning.
