We got absolutely drenched cycling at Dalbeattie Forest trails Friday. We needed boats not bikes. Even the “bike wash” was flooded 🤣. The trails were fun though and getting wet when it is warm weather isn’t so bad.
On the way we got a view of a wonderful old Abbey at Dundrennan. We only jumped out for a quick photo so we didn’t put on our waterproofs and then the heavens opened. Luckily the Historic Scotland guide had a lot of stories to tell as we sheltered under part of the Abbey wall for a good 20 minutes!
We stayed Friday night at the Otters Pools on the Raiders Road in the Galloway Park. Absolutely beautiful location but we did have to compete with the midges!
Saturday morning we took advantage of the sun to dry out yesterday’s cycling stuff and to recharge some batteries.
