Inspired by our scenic ride at Ballater we decided to take in more of the open hillside at Pitlochry. Illya planned a route up through Moulin and along the approach to Ben Y Vrackie which then went over the saddle and back down to Killicrankie. The views were gorgeous but the climb was tough going!

We are finishing this trip with a few days in Dunkeld, a historic town which boasts its own cathedral, picturesque bridge and a huge number of hiking and biking trails.
Yesterday we spent most of our time on or near Birnam Hill enjoying the single track descents. Well mostly enjoying it …… I think for both of us there was a disconnect between what we imagined we could ride and what we actually could. The trails are quite difficult here.

So today we headed to the North East side of Dunkeld through the woods and out to Loch Ordie. The scenery was amazing and there was a good mix of cycling from easy gravel to technical reds and lots in between. A lovely day out to finish our trip.
