This week we are enjoying the lovely weather, not planning to drive too far and trying more remote locations to stay the night. We set off with a plan for the first night on Monday and will see where we end up. This is what retirement is all about!
Last night we stayed on a farm near Comrie. This area is known as the “shaky toon” as it is the earthquake centre of Scotland. The landscape is just as rugged as you’d expect along a fault line but beautiful at the same time. The land owner, James, is happy to share his wonderful views with visitors. It was a short but challenging drive up an off road track to our pitch for the night but the 4WD capability of the van managed ok. And the views in every direction when we got there were worth it.
We woke to clouds covering the hills but this soon lifted and it turned into another sunny day. Off to Comrie Croft for some cycling now.
