We’ve had a great couple weeks at home with our lovely niece who was visiting, but we are excited to be back in the van again.
For this trip we are starting in Tomintoul in Banffshire. The plan is to head up to Fochabers and then west along the Moray Coast to the Black Isle and as far north as Golspie before retracing our steps and finishing at Hopeman for the summer night fever party.
Our first stop was Bike Glenlivet where there are some super fun bike trails. This is one place where it usually feels like you have to ride up more than down so I was looking forward to using my new e-bike 😁. Much more fun when you aren’t so knackered from getting up the hill than you can actually enjoy coming down.

Home last night was the Bowling Green in Tomintoul which is a motorhome aire at night. Not quite as pretty as the Dark Sky park we stayed in before just down the road, but close to town and with access to brand new toilets and showers. That’s a valuable luxury after an afternoon cycling believe me.

This morning we drove to Fochabers to cycle the Moray Monster Trails. We couldn’t believe the number and variety of mushrooms here. Something weird must be going on. Check out the size of this one!

I am writing this post whilst enjoying the sunshine at the beach at Findhorn where we are staying tonight. ☀️🕶️
